From 1994 to 2008, the Pacesetter Academy emphasized academic success and pathways to college education through a semiweekly after-school program of scholastic and life skills curricula, tutoring assistance, and cultural and community engagement to select students in grades 5-12 in the Omaha Public Schools in Nebraska.

Although the Academy ceased its classroom activities in September 2008, college scholarships are still available to those who were enrolled in its program at that time, provided they meet the following criteria:
  • Candidates must have been involved in the Pacesetter Academy for a minimum of two academic years.
  • Students must have graduated high school with a 2.5 GPA.  Scholarship value is $2,000-3,000 per academic year; award amounts are based on graduating GPA.
  • Students must attend college full time.

Scholarship awards are renewable each semester for the first four years after high school graduation, providing students meet the criteria outlined here.

Deadline for application is July 1.

High school transcripts must accompany the attached application form.
